William “Buddy” Harvey Hill Obituary

William “Buddy” Harvey Hill, Jr. age 87 of Lineboro, MD passed into eternal life, Sunday July 20, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Westminster, MD.

Born Oct. 16, 1926 in Dayton, MD he was the son of the late William H. and Elva Inglehart Hill. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Mae Boone Hill who died in 1991.

He was a retired accomplished Cattleman. In his younger years he was active in 4H and from that he developed a strong work ethic and career in the cattle business. Based on his many life time accomplishments and efforts to improve the Maryland Dairy Cattle industry he was inducted into the Maryland Dairy Shrine in 2008. He loved golf, reading, sports, Bible Study and was a Gideon for 40 years.

He is survived by his sons, William H. Hill III and wife Sharon of Lineboro, MD with whom he resided and John Robert Hill of Crewe, Virginia. Siblings, Mary Kathryn Eyer of Glenelg, MD, Regina Orndorff of McKnightstown, PA, Norman Hill and wife Velma of Woodbine, MD, and James Hill and wife Anita of Taneytown, MD. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings, Helena Outlaw and Allen Hill.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9pm at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00am.

Interment will be Friday 1:00pm in Wards Chapel Cemetery, Crewe, Virginia.
