Milk Futures Mostly Higher, Cash Dairy Mostly Lower

In Class III trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk futures were steady to higher on spread trade and technical buying. December was up $.14 at $17.07, January was $.02 higher at $16.53, February held at $16.68, and March was up $.01 at $16.73.

Cash cheese continued its recent losses. Blocks were $.0075 lower at $1.7225. There were four trades, three at $1.72 and one at $1.7225. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $1.7225. Barrels were down $.0075 at $1.5775. There was one trade at $1.5775 and one at $1.58. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.59.

Butter was $.025 lower at $2.07. There were a total of seven trades, including three at $2.07 and two at $2.0675. The last unfilled bid was on five loads at $2.05. The last uncovered offer was for one load at $2.0725.

Nonfat dry milk was $.025 higher at $.9825. There were four loads sold, two at $.97, one at $.9725, and one at $.98. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $.9825.
