Rose makes history, named twice World Champion!
Holstein International magazine announced in their February issue the name of the 2009 World Champion, the Canadian Thrulane James Rose EX-97 2E owned by Pierre Boulet Montmagny, Quebec renewing her 2008 exploit. In addition to extending her reign, she becomes the first cow ever receiving twice this honour since the beginning of this competition, 13 years ago.
Rose obtained 42.6% of all votes ahead of Harvue Roy Frosty EX-95, owned by M. & J. Duckett, S. Armbrust, and J. & N. Jünemann from the United States, who got 23.2% of the votes. This first-ever double World Champion successfully defended her title while still on the same lactation. Rose won in 2009 the titles of Grand Champion at the Quebec spring show, the Royal agricultural winter fair of Toronto and Reserve Champion at the World Dairy Expo of Madison Wisconsin. According to International Holstein, now that 400 judges throughout the world have had their say and this by a majority of nearly 20%, Rose still reigns! It is therefore a perfect record for a two time exceptional cow.
