Perdue Happy with Funding But Not With Lack of Disaster Aid

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says he’s pleased President Trump has signed the funding bill to keep USDA operating for the rest of the fiscal year.

But, even with the passage of the appropriations measure that funds several other agencies, Perdue says Congress still has unfinished business for farmers and ranchers affected by damaging natural disasters last year. Agricultural disaster aid was not included in the bill.

Perdue says he supports Trumps decision to declare a national emergency at the southern border since Congress did not appropriate enough funds to build a wall.
