The DAT People's Choice Question of the Week: What price?
USDA monthly price forecasts show increases in dairy prices this year. There are now several market indicators that hint we are headed for higher milk prices as this year progresses.
 
Understanding every dairy operation is different, at what price per cwt. would milk need to achieve for your operation to be profitable enough to net the median household income in the United States of $62,175 based on a June 2018 research survey?

Don't think many are wanting 62,000. Just a profit would be nice for a start!

Kind of interesting that there are not many comments here but after working with commercial and Registered dairymen for several years it seems to me that there are a high percentage of commercial dairymen that could tell you pretty closely what their cost of producing a 100 lbs of milk is but not many Registered dairymen know their number

1. I would need a wife that makes $62,175. 2. I would need a wife. 3. Based on the last ones I would need $124,350. I'm guessing no one can afford my milk.
