Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed higher Friday while cash trade was relatively mixed as customers push back at the recent run-up in cheese prices.
September Class III milk up a penny at $18.26. October up 18 cents at $18.66. November 27 cents higher at $18.39. December up 23 cents at $17.70. January through April contracts five to 12 cents higher.
Dry whey unchanged at $0.3975. Two trades were made at that price.
Blocks up $0.0050 at $2.05. Four trades were made at $2.02 to $2.05.
Barrels down $0.01 at $1.6550. Eleven trades were ranging from $1.6150 to 1.6650.
Butter up $0.0125 at $2.1150.
Nonfat dry milk up $0.0050 at $1.0825. Five trades were made at that price.
