Wisconsin to Host the Ayrshire Convention!
It's going to be a year to remember for members of the Wisconsin Ayrshire Breeders' Association. The group will not only be celebrating its 75th anniversary as a state breed association, but will also be rolling out the red carpet as host of the 2012 National Ayrshire Convention. The annual event will be held at the Holiday Inn in Appleton on June 26-30.

"This will be a time to showcase our top registered Ayrshire herds and honor some of our adult and youth members for their achievements within the past year," said Mina Gumieny, who is serving as chair for the convention fundraising committee. "Our national convention is the only time national members come together to share ideas, talk about issues and rekindle old friendships."

She says the conference will include an annual business meeting, awards banquet and an appearance by Alice in Dairyland.

Local tours will also be held at Milk Source Genetics, Ullm-Star Farm, Grand-View Ayrshires Farm and Simon's Specialty Cheese.

Members of the junior association will also be meeting during the week.

The convention will conclude with the National Ayrshire Sale at the Cow Palace in Kaukauna, where top quality registered Ayrshires will be sold.
